We build the walls ourselves, Within their confines dwell, In pointless isolation, A personal prison cell. We wrap up our potential In barbed wire and bouquets Of thorny Venus fly traps And cold and empty days. If no man is an island Nor may live by bread alone, Why seek self seclusion, Sink into the twilight zone? With a will to conquer exile, Self aware we hold the key, To revise and then revitalise A life that sets us free. Reaffirming of our being, In humanity believe, And refocus on the world And on all we can achieve...
