Except You

Lay me down
so soft and peacefully
Cradle me in your arms
and whisper that you love me

Oh all those things in life
that keep passing me by
they can keep on passing passing
as long as you are near me nothing will ever make me cry

except you, yes
except you

Hold my hand
take me through the garden path
to take a walk with you
regardless of the aftermath

this love will always last
yes, this love won't slip past
I'll fight and fight to the very end
just as long as I have you as a friend

And nothing will ever make me cry
except you
