Everything At Once

Sometimes there's time that you're trying to fill,
A stretch with no upcoming plans,
When suddenly, hours you were needing to kill
Disappear like a movie with pans.

For everything happens at once, so it seems -
Obligations, repairs and requests,
Adding stress to your life and appearing in dreams
Where you find yourself failing all tests.

The expression is apt - either famine or feast
Is the way that the world tends to go
And, of course, at those times you expect it the least
That's when problems and obstacles show.

The stale cliche says it all: when it rains it pours! Last month I was swamped with bills that were late with warning due dates. Not my fault the mail is slow but try explaining that to computer generated bills? / M

This is such a wise, philosophical write, Ilene. Interesting to know what triggered it... As for me, I'm swamped, overwhelmed after all the holidays (R.H., Y.K, Sukkoth, Shemini Atseres, and Simchas Torah) this year. So much stuff come due all at once! Oh, well. Nose to the grindstone... :) gw

Just when we think we're on a roll, it rolls over. Just had one of these episodes yesterday doing fall yard work. :) But I'm recovering. :) lol

Sounds like Trump's America has invaded your dreams! Well said, though! Aloha! Rico

You can poetically say that again. It sure does seem that way Ilene. Nicely done.
