Everyone Likes Halloween Except
Everyone is buzzing about Halloween.
Oh, your decorations are darling! I love your witch.
Have you seen Henrietta’s fabulous door decorations?
Did you see John’s tie?
Ghosts, goblins, witches, hooray.
The new guy is not jumping in with enthusiasm.
Matter of fact, he seems more quiet than usual.
Which most of them thought was impossible.
What’s the matter with him?
They whisper through bathroom stalls.
Giggling at his moroseness.
None knowing that his family was killed
In a car wreck on Halloween night two years ago
When the children were trick-or-treating.
Thinking he is the odd ball.
Tossing meanness about.
Making fun of a
Sad and sorrowful man
Who has no reason to celebrate Halloween.
