Everybody Is a Poet

Poems are about emotion
About what we feel inside
But what if there's nothing left
Because a piece of you has died?

Maybe when you've lost someone
And the grief's overtaken your mind
The words can become so illusive
There almost impossible to find

It's times like this, when the poet
Will search his heart, instead
He writes with raw emotion
And not what's in his head

Inspiration comes from many things
Not just the pain we're feeling
It's also about our triumphs
And, sometimes, about our healing

Sometimes, we tell a story
An adventure that we share
And sometimes, a poem of love
To show them that we care

We all share the same emotions
It's called our kindred spirit
Our souls cry out for recognition
But some will refuse to hear it

Everybody is a poet
Some just don't write it down
But we who do, truly understand
What a joy this is, we've found
