Every Milestone Counts
Every milestone counts along the way
They tell how far from hell I am
How near to eternity draws the day.
I have left the plains since morning
The hill gets steeper day by day
I walk to meet sunrise and keep going
The sun gets tired, yes, and goes to sleep,
But I keep on going up this hill
While they my commitment perfect keep
Every milestone counts along the way
And takes me nearer to my home
A little while longer, I am not far away.
