Notes About The Poem

Evergreen

Outside my window it does stand, a guardian so grand.
Larger than most, older it seems, is the tree evergreen.

Sinewy bark and leaves do grace a silent sentinel in place.
Year long shade it does cast while other trees do not last.

Perfect shape for a perfect tree the deepest color I see.
Before I was the tree did be and will remain after me.
