Eventually

Life is simply complex
Ask anyone with an ex
  Ask an ex-husband
  Ask an ex-wife
  Ask an ex-millionaire
~ Just how easy is life?

  Ask an ex-con
  Ask an ex-cop
  Ask an ex-champion
~ How was your fall from the top?

How then to navigate life
Her myriad twists and turns?
  Fools rush in with
      Give 'this' a try...
  Wiser heads prevail
   ~ Live and let die

This could go on forever and be accurate. What about an ex-Marine, an ex-President an ex-traordinary human being with integrity? Hmmmm? Thank you for throwing me into a "full roll" this morning!

Glad to have thrown you into a "full roll" this morning? (Trust you ate it with jam)… and aren't you kind of glad the poem DIDN'T go on forever?! :) gw

Well, thank you, Mr. Chuck Melugin! Couldn't ask for a bigger compliment than you've given this little poem. Much appreciated. ~ Gershon

Your comment has stimulate one of my last living brain cells, Panagiota: If we consider 'yesterday' as an 'ex-something,' then we have cut ourselves off from the past, from our past, in a sense. ... At any rate, it's food for thought if one is hungry. Thank you for the comment, Panagiota! :) gw
