Eventide

Eventide

The broken pieces of my mind

Come together on the ocean tide

Scattered on the beach far and wide

All the splinters you may find

A cast asunder by time to blind

The diluted memories become aligned

Sometimes waves make them collide

Shattering them to drown beneath inside

The clear thoughts are the pebbles so defined

Shiny and solid purposeful helpful kind

The dreams of yesterday washed and tried

An ocean comes to take that which you want to hide

Those memories are gone again till next eventide
