Evening On the Pier-Win

Fireworks at the old pier
on the fourth of July
spell it with red wheels high
Rundle and rung.

They sparkle in the air
touch the water and quit
rockets make flight and split
in gold and blue

I sit lone with the past
alone with her spirit
by the sea, the waves bit
On the old pier

I like this one a lot, Dr. Ram. I believe the spirit can be as strong as a physical presence. Those fireworks were not observed alone. Great image, my friend.... Robert.

this is quite good , especially the last part, how you mixed in the sad nostalgia and the interesting image of the waves bit the old pier. Hope it does very well in her contest for ya.
