Even the Rain
When someone loses a child
Nothing's ever the same
We keep looking for a reason why
And not knowing who to blame
The sun will never shine as bright
A smile, never stretch as wide
Nothing will look like yesterday
Before our children died
The birds won't sing their songs of hope
We pass the flowers by
No beauty in the oceans blue
Nor the sunsets in the sky
We're not thinking about tomorrow
But trying to make it through today
The meaning of life has no meaning
And time just slips away
Now everything looks different
It's a different kind of pain
For all of those who've lost a child
Knows, it even changes the rain
