Even If It's Only For a Day...

I try to find 
A happy place
To go to
Just to escape
Even if it's only for a day...

I try to stop crying
Try to wipe these tears from
My eyes
Even if it's only for a day... 

I try to look
Inside myself and
Find me
Even if it's only for a day...

I try to forgive 
Even when it 
Hurts to try
Even if it's only for a day...

I try to
Forget I'm in
So much pain
Even if it's only for a day...

Maybe I'll try again tomorrow....

Sometimes all we can do is just take it that one day at a time, as stated "even if it's only for a day," can be wonderfully true advice. I have found that when I try to take in more than one day at a time, it sometimes can feel overwhelming; one day at a time is often more than enough! :) Beautifully written.
