Eternally
Not midnight breathing soft, not the pale kind,
Your August bears eternally a kiss,
Like mantle draped on hammock’s whirl of bliss
That from eve's luster sweet ardor, I find,
One drop to quell a thirsting quite refined
With gentle rush to fling, to care, I bow.
For love must express, my breath, to speak now,
I am refreshed and always held enshrined.
So come, dear one, we’ll walk the endless strands
That melt into those eyes of aqua-blue,
Yonder a dappled moon, near palm trees’ nest
Jays of summer wheel above gleaming sands,
When promises are faithful, always true
Yes, only then shall we feel wholly blest!
