Eternal
Eternal ocean, potent force,
the cradle of life's very source—
our planet's cool, embracing arm,
the sailor's foe, the artist's charm.
We all must honor ocean's might,
and keep its grandeur in our sight.
The gull who cries above the swell,
the fish who swims, the lucent shell,
the shifting sand, the salted breeze—
my strength abides in each of these.
Beneath the sunset's painted skies,
I feel the ocean's fall and rise—
and I know that a part of me
still tumbles with the mighty sea.
