Escape

I’m running from escaping me
The world in my mind
Confiscate the things I prize
Until no one can find

The beating of my winter drum
The demon, his eyes
The singing of my frozen love
The angel inside

Everything I said to her
Things that I was
Everything that held me then
They’ll kill me because

I need to escape from you
The place that I hate
The world and everything that fades
Before it’s too late

The whispers of a frightened child
The darkness within
Telling me to join the fall
It needs to begin

Everything that calls to me
Things that I am
Denial, realisation’s crawl
I escape to the sand
