Errancy
the wayward child within us all
forever played by spring and fall
whose songs allay the will to flee
the wicked ways of errancy
as oftentimes a man will shun-
his promises to wife or son
to heed the call to wander free
the primrose path of errancy
like vessels trimmed with shining sails
the admirals and swallowtails
adrift upon a rustic lea
the fertile field of errancy
if stars availed to wishes plied
a pair of wings on which to glide
to ride, how splendid would it be
the wilful wind of errancy
