Equity

What is truly the measure of a man? Do you even believe that God has a plan? What’s in your heart, do you follow a path? How are your numbers, have you tried all the math? Have you put yourself in center or just revolve? Is our creation a mystery that you think you can solve? How is your faith, how far can you leap? Is your radar clear or just full of bleeps? What’s important, what keeps you alive? Is it the size of your house or the car that you drive? What’s in your bank, are your debts paid in full? Do you pass through a china shop just like a bull? Are you the head of your household or just share in part? Do you have love or hate that dwells in your heart? Will you help feed the hungry and share your own bowl? Do you have any equity left in your soul?

Do I have food for the family, do we have a home, are we comfortable with what we have , do I have love, warmth and joy - yes to all. If I happen to buy a new jersey or a new dress or shoes or whatever, I will give one of mine to our domestic. When I pass a homeless person on the corner always want to give them any change I have in the car, and I always have spare coins in the middle of the car for this reason Happy New Year Mark to you and your family. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

That's awesome Jennifer, I used to go to Chicago quite a bit for work. I would keep a small cooler with Orange Juice and granola bars and hand them out at the corners when I would stop at a traffic light. Happy New Year

I have the love of family and friends and belief in God, as long as I have enough for food and a roof over my head then I consider myself a rich man. Hope you have a very happy new year Mark. Tom

Wow, so powerful, Mark! My sister's family counts wealth in terms of dollars. For me it is measured in love and friendship. Your poem hits a home run for me. Thank you for sharing! It goes to my faves. Best wishes for the new year! Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you so much for being so wonderful and nice to me. I’m confident that your sister will one day figure it out. Don’t give up on her.

We'd better have a lot more than equity in our souls. Material wealth does not make a man. It's what's in his heart that is of true value.

You hit that right on the nose! More people in this world need to think the same way. Thanks Jenna, it's always a pleasure my friend!
