Equality

Equality By: Tom Wright 07/01/98 Shall all mankind be painted with the same brush? We go about as blind men always in a mad rush. Man is not flesh and bone, poured into a mold. With different tongues we mesh, our place in life to hold. Should pigment of one's skin determine where we rest? Or work be judged on less than our best? Opportunities for each, should exist, For each of us possess. Discount gender, short or tall, Using skills alone assess. Should age a factor be? On this should we deny? While seeking but a chance one's skills to apply. God made us individuals Though forgotten this seems to be. Each downward reaching hand From life's snares we may one free.
God, did not cast aside certain races, creeds, nationalities, the overweight, the ugly, or those with character blemishes unlike our own. Neither should we deny any man on these grounds.

"Should pigment of one's skin determine where we rest? Or work be judged on less than our best?" It would be so silly, and yet some use this craziness as their "gauge".
