Epiphany of Doom

She was falling into the black hole Slowly at first, then fast Arms as black as coal They were cold and sharp Pierced her with all the hate they could muster They had never seen the light of day All life they wanted to shatter She was losing this endless game Her soul was leaving her body She could see the devil dawn Its red eyes glaring at her She was nothing but a mere pawn Her body touched the brim of forgetfulness And she drew in a startled breath Her legs twitched like she had woken up from an illness And she found herself in her bed! Sweat lined her brows She heaved a sigh of relief But what she didn’t see was Her lifeless body on the sheet
