Environmental Allegiance
Environmental Allegiance
A soft vapor climbed high toward the sky
Ends twisting into curls before my eyes
Satin ribbons loop as one catching a falling star
Pulling back tight shoots it faster than a freight car
Straight into the dropping sun exploding with light
Causing the sunset to burst into tangerine hues of delight
Gracefully joining the day with night shades of ambiance
This moment of submission fortifies the harmony of Allegiance
If our human ears could hear the sounds of new growth
As spring pops with a fervor chanting humanities new oath
Buds opening their petals in song saplings stretch as baby fawns
Fuzzy foliage beckons to morning’s beautiful light of dawn
Flocks of yellow canaries deposit their golden glow into the sunset
That will reappear as dawns glow breaks the night without regret
The earth is our pair of eternal shoes as we walk among a family
From which our flesh was made honoring our beautiful multifamily
