Enticing Scents of Lavender
Enticing scents of lavender waft
On the sultry summer breeze
Sounds of the meadowlark soft
Almost bring me to my knees.
I worship the God who made them
Over those vast eons of time
Whispering a prayer of thanksgiving
In a cheerfully measured rhyme.
'Tis a vision of possibilities, I see
In nature's ordered presence
A marvelous panorama of drama
Which, surely, includes you and me.
The brotherhood of man invites
All things in the scope of creation
So we must be careful not to intrude
Obstructing with our wilful violations.
