Enormous Tortoise

Enormous Tortoise Coming right toward us One enormous tortoise Admittedly, not coming fast But still I was cautious For it make me nauseous I can’t wait until he goes past He was there on the corner Around here he’s a foreigner For he was not one from the sea He was ottoman size And I thought it was wise To keep distance between he and me I ain’t figered it yet But I guess he’s a pet This guy shows him off now and then I’m not sure that it’s legal That’s like owning an eagle If that’s legal I don’t know since when Oh, I’ve seen him around This small Calabash town The tourist with camera’s all click I fear he’s being used And maybe abused And that’s the part that makes me sick 6/4/12
