Enemies of the Cross

Enemies of the Cross ” 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.” Phil 3:18-19 NIV Many live their lives daily As enemies of the cross. Their destiny is ultimate destruction And eternity their great loss. Their minds are on earthly things, Rather than God’s treasures above. Their God is their stomach And their glory is shame, not love. Christ transforms our lowly minds, Should we offer Him that [surrender] control. Love and joy are the Spirit’s fruits; Our sweet Lord to extol. But many daily choose to live As Enemies of the Cross and Christ’s sacrifice; They shun God’s word and His guidance Feeling no need of higher advice. As Enemies of the Cross, Their appetites and desires come first. They see God’s word as useless, And for its power have no great thirst. Their citizenship is the nations That shall soon pass away, Not the citizenship of heaven For which God’s children pray. Enemies of the Cross are many in number. They plan for their earthly future, With eyes wide closed To death’s imminent slumber. Enemies of the Cross of Christ, Know not the joy of heaven and its peace. They prefer their earthly desires; Not ‘delayed gratification’ to release. Copyright © Maureen LeFanue 2012 www.godsgreetings.org

Hello, my friend. Sadly the enemies of the cross are many. By the same token, there are still many good souls in the world. I'm so happy for that. I hope they remain strong in number.
