Endure

No inspiration to move me
No calming thoughts to soothe me
Without it, living isn’t as easy
As it once seemed
No force behind my drive
No power in my stride
Lost course, lost sights
No assurance to get me through the night
Movements are less intense
The fire has become quenched
Goals have vanished
Somewhere out of distance
Sure things become uncertainty
Hope turns to fading possibility
As time moves ahead of me
Discouragement I take in daily
Promise disintegrates
At an overwhelming rate
Failure seems inevitable
As life roams destitute
 Nothing left to do
But endure
