End of the Road

What happens to ambition?
where does it go.
It seemed so strong,
constant,there at my
side.
Nudging,pushing,whispering
scheming .
When did it die?
Why did I not notice?
It just left me
without a word of goodbye.
I had enjoyed its company
for so so many years!
Yet I am not bereft,
or lonely without
this crutch.
It was just a friend
who helped me
to do it all my way!

You bet.... I remember my dad always said, "the only thing you need more of is good friends".
