End of Summer

End of summer

The ruby soft wildflowers,
Jewels in the yellow summer field--
Buzzing honey bees are spiraling
Down with the flower falling petals.
The chorus of happy birds sings in
The emerald sky that is
Carrying trapped
Rainbow rays of sunlight.
Sweet smell of the starburst earth
Spreads with the wind’s cooling breeze--
Mocking the bird’s laugh
In the endless sky.
