End of Innocence

blood suffocates my broken heart like darkness suffocates the sky remembrance of fog on a rainy day perception deceiving the eye they say time heals all wounds yet it still leaves a scar we can never again go back to innocence to change who we are

You're right, John. We can't return to the innocence. Scars linger, but we can learn from our mistakes. Can relate to your poem. Love, Carolyn
