End of a Nation
None of you want to believe the end has begun
all so smug in your tight knit illusions
heads full of lies, truths you never knew
Listen to their words without thinking
how easy it is to look away
not see the pain your falsehoods propagate
Shut your door don't look out
don't hear screams of injustice from occupied nations
your ears are muffled against the winds of shame
your silence is heard the world over
No longer respected, hated by all
you brought to an end the nation
your forefathers found
Replaced by a regime using your fear
that will take from you
what you hold most dear
liberty, freedom and pursuit of happiness
What you have left is an empty shell
of what once was a shining light
giving hope to millions
sailing towards Ellis Island
Now you build fences
to keep out the weary
one day your walls
will imprison you within
Now you leave in your wake
death and detruction
the world sees what you have become
will stand together and strike you down
