Encounter

A flash of heat Warms my flesh A tingle, spreads Ears, to chest My brain on break Response, delay I strain to think What to say Uneasy eyes Stomach full Of butterflies I’m back in school Teacher’s pick Random student Scared sick Becoming truant So much at stake Their thoughts on me Hands shake Word debris Stuttered ramble Posture, poor Enough to handle But speaking, more Opinion and fact Shouldn’t be spoke I back track With fearful hope I feel abused By the close But I lit the fuse They said “hello”
