Encompassed In Memory

Cool mountain streams reflect the cobalt blues and greys of sky Restful twilight with stars scattered as if on a canvas Fire cloaks the curve of the earth and golden fish swim nearby Weeping willows in the field sway to an urgent sadness The gushing wind that stirs etches the land, channels through boundless time The carved thrust of a mountain range, maybe the Andes Will challenge the forever yielding sky, vast as the horizon Where rain batters the window and mists as far as we can see It is a warm evening in a pub in Ireland As the songs hover around us, I know this is what it is like to be free
