Empty Words

Staring each other in the eye We have come to point of saying goodbye Words have lost their sting The passion within them is gone Within them no power remains Everything you could say has been heard Nothing you can do could change this fact She doesn't want you back Grey Goose won't dull this pain Hanging with the fellas won't help you forget what you let slip away Prayers won't bring her back Stop trying If you knew her worth you would have been home Blowing up her phone Sending texts with hearts and smiley faces Always reminding her that you care Kissing her goodnight Setting football aside for one night Paying attention to her needs Instead you worried about yourself Leaving her alone at night Never knowing the tears she cried Staring each other in the face Knowing we are about to go our separate ways Love and all we had faded away Nothing could you to stay Words have become air with sounds
