Notes About The Poem

Quadruple bypass. Kind thoughts and prayers for my Aunt. <3

Empty Space

EMPTY SPACE

My eyes look at the empty space
My heart aches as the tick tock
Takes place
A six hour stretch...stretch...stretch

H-aving hope through prayer E-ardrums beat listening to the time A-ching hearts cut out like paper R-ips and tears proclaiming love for her T-ime beats...beats...beats
My mom talks to her twin in twilight hours A womb-dynamic duo Hearts hours apart by phone Squeezing hands Together moist heads pressed...pressed...pressed
T-oo soon old age comes W-ooing I-ntroducing chest pains N-ets catch her before she falls...falls...falls
My eyes look at the empty space My heart aches as the tick tock Takes place A six hour pleading...pleading...pleading 7/25/2017

Kim, What a lovely tribute to both you aunt and your mother. I will remember her in my prayers. So well written! - Dean
