Empty Pedestal

An empty pedestal where you once stood Now fills this lonely room Where once was light, that shone so bright Stands hollow, with loss and gloom A stranger in a foreign land Destined to lose his way A barren heart, that will not start Has died a little more today The weeping willow where we first met Has no more tears to cry It's branches bare, without you there Has withered and began to die Your memory now a distant dream That haunts me as I sleep I wake each night, you're not in sight And my soul begins to weep An empty pedestal where you once stood Stands broken and torn apart A barren place, without your face This pedestal I call my heart

What a wonderful day to be reading poetry of others. I am so happy your poetry is among those I am reading this morning Larry. I wish you as I wish all my fellow poets the best in your writing endeavors whatever they may be. It is a pleasure to me to read my fellow poets poetry. Love, Carol
