Empty Girl
The rain drops down in sadness,
As the sun departs the light.
Such emptiness and silence,
Death has cursed upon this night.
Whispers fill the silence,
As you leave this dreadful place.
Oh how I wish to feel you,
Wipe the tears right off my face.
Oh how I wish to hear the beauty,
Of your everlasting voice.
Oh how I wish to see your face,
If I only had a choice.
Dear Death, I do beseech you,
To attain my empty soul.
See my life now lacks a purpose,
Because I am no longer whole.
Dear God, I beg for mercy,
Please return my star-crossed love.
The agony strikes through me,
As you look down from up above.
And then I hear you like a dream,
“We will meet again once more,
All you need is trust in God,
To help walk through that peaceful door.”
So I sit there in the silence,
Thinking what just crossed my eye.
No longer will I mourn for you,
No longer will I cry.
My life was based on loving you,
But as you leave this sinful world.
I realize God will see me through,
No need for an empty girl.
