Empty And Hollow
I can only sit here
And cry while I'm alone;
I should be holding you
Instead of my phone.
You told me not to call,
That you would call me,
And you had things to do,
So you were going to be busy.
I stare at the phone
Until I'm forced to blink;
Each second you don't call,
The deeper my heart will sink.
Day and night I wait,
Hoping to hear from you;
Just hearing your voice
Is all that I want to do.
This time that has passed
Has done nothing to heal
Me or my broken heart;
I try to hide how I feel.
To smile and laugh,
Believe me, I have tried.
It's hard to do when you're
Empty and hollow inside.
