Empty

Empty
The years are passing by so
fast you see
I look in the mirror to see its
still just me
The house is calm no sound
to be heard
I open my bible to reflect
on Gods word
My thoughts keep rolling
though the best of my life
I survived the hard times
of tears and strife
My kids are healthy and
suchpure delight
They are my true blessings
that I definitely got right
Life as of today, at the very
moment in time
I can honestly say it's now
time to unwind
The nest is empty, our lives
have grown
So many feelings come
who would have known
Our kids are taught to
spread their wings and
leave the nest
We tell it's for their future
and us parents "No best."
I lean on GODs word to see
me through each day
I find myself evolving and
heading a new way
Hug your kids and show
them your love
They are definitely sent as
blessings from above
