Empty
Her empty heart turns into tears,
As the crowd gathers in this sombre place.
Her black veil smothers her emotions,
As her gloved fingers trace his cold face.
She gazes at the smiling face in the portrait,
Of the man whom once held her hand.
She bends down to kiss his stiffened face,
As a tear drops onto his wedding band.
The pastures voice now rings in her ears,
As the lid closes him into darkness.
The closed box now sealed for the earth,
As her empty heart brings out her weakness.
Her mind flashes back to a younger day,
As she see's two happy people in love.
Her mind returns to the sound of falling dirt,
As his spirit enters the heavens above.
