Empowerment

In a society where so many voices,
Go without acknowledgement.
It can feel impossible to,
Be a positive influence.

The first home security system,
Was designed by Marie Brown.
Now I feel safe and secure,
Whenever I choose to lie down.

Automatic elevator doors,
Protect me from the shaft.
Alexander Miles was a man,
Who had a phenomenal plan.

We have more to offer,
Than just music and sports.
We represent the thread,
That keeps our country ahead.

There is value to our lives,
Purpose shines through our eyes.
We shine high and bright,
Like little diamonds in the sky.
