Empathy's Gate

Empathy's Gate

Careless or clueless
As you cough and you splutter
If you don’t wear a mask
Then your minds in the gutter
Yes they’re hot and they’re muggy
And they stifle fresh air
Like being trapped in a coffin
Oh what a burden to bear
But let’s be kind to ourselves
And let’s be kind to each other
Be it baby or child
Be it sister or brother
Be it friend
Be it stranger
Let’s just care for their fate
Yes look after ourselves
But open empathy’s gate
So lets all put on our masks
And wear them with pride
Defeat Covid 19
Make it scurry and hide

I do want it to “scurry and hide.” You have nailed my own feelings.
