Emotionally Numb'

I like seeing myself
smile

Happiness was new
I 
Only felt it for a moment

Fleeting feelings deep inside

Emotionally numb
As
I ran away to a dark place where I would hide...

Then
I was alone

And

I would cry

Feeling pain

Waiting to die ....

My emotions were deep

I had fear

Mostly when I would lay down to sleep

My dreams would scare me

But

I didn't tell

Another about that place called hell ...

Because

After all it was but a dream.

One day I'll wake
Not
Wanting to scream.
