Emotional Shelf
Emotional Shelf
I Lived My Entire Life
Based Completely on Emotion.
I Didn't Know the Pitfalls
Of Showing Such Devotion.
I Have No One to Blame
Except of Course Myself,
So I Built a Wall of Protection
And Put "Emotion" on a Shelf.
Now I Can't Be Hurt,
And I Don't Shed Any Tears
The Wall Holds Me Together,'
But It's Very Lonely in Here.
Even Though Love's Offered
It Cannot Be Received,
I Can See "Emotion" on the Shelf
But it Cannot Be Retrieved.
