Emily

I forgive you dear Emily, For you are more than fair; Your flirty eyes give promise, Your pouty lips don't care. From the tilt of your head, My heart it could break; Your silken cheek with blush, Where pretty dimples wake. The mayhem in your eyes, That will not look at me; There the damage lies, There for all to see. You wink coquettish lash, To entice me in the night; Would the knowing of your heart, Make everything alright? What your callous lips may say, Your naughty eyes deny; What a tease dear Emily, Enough to make me cry.

Hi Lizzie! Love the picture perfect Emily which you've created in this piece with her uniqueness and coquettish lash...your descriptions are fantastic and this Emily came alive in this read. Very enjoyable read. Who is Emily?

"flirty...pouty...coquettish,' enough to make you cry? A tease, indeed! A pet, perhaps? Blessings to you, Keith

The comments of the general public seem to miss the clue. I can't but help to wonder if that maybe I do too. The vaguely obvious is there for all to see. Well I guess that it's just me.

Marvilous. this was made for Gods pleasure for i know He is pleased. JOHN HENRY LOVING III

Dear poet; you and I are on the same page....*winkers* .. see; the heart through our minds eye speaks volumes,(we need that eye to see the slip our ink is spilling on) and you as well, have the touch, which at times, I slip on slip, (yes, I said that right, write) with just enough refrain to cause the reader to....... well; I'm certain you know what I mean! Awesome write Elizabeth...really good poetry ! have a wonderful night....much love, james

What a lovely write! I got that you are sorta jealous of this Emily, this perfect Emily(so she seems in your descriptions)! Whoever Emily is, she is a "tease" as your said! I really enjoyed your poem, great rhyme!!
