Joseph had died 
A new king had come 
Yet the Israelites were tired 
And oh so done! 
The head Egyptian in charge 
made a decision 
He ordered all midwives 
To do kill missions 

Embrace your calling 
Be confident in your position 
With an attitude a baditude 
Towards your godly mission 
Let nothing and no one 
Set you apart 
From the promise and purpose 
God's place in your heart 

but some midwives defied 
This horrifying request 
As it went against everything 
That's sacred and blessed 
And because Shiphrah and Puah 
Embraced civil disobediency 
Moses survive to go on 
And give Israel the victory
