Embrace the Line
It’s my sanity fight
that rages day and night.
Darkness descends on me,
gray hardness suspends me,
then chokes me in its spree.
My mind and emotions
fatigue from erosions
that my own existence
seems unable to out distance.
Crazy takes energy
worthy of a sad elegy.
I flirt with this fine line,
for escape seems divine.
Time nudges my step closer -
to do it, go on and cross over.
When I stray towards insane,
I loudly hear my apt brain
stressing simply and plain,
do not pine for that line!
I must battle pain’s drain
so my heart may contain
refusal and thus decline
such a real life exit line.
