Embers of Time

Embers of Time


Sweet flickering embers of time
rekindling  morsels of flame
held in the  shivering embrace
of a love that no loving could tame.

The heat and the light slowly blur
the embers of time’s discontent
doused by the salt of lost tears
in shadows flame dancing lament.
