Listen to poem:

Elohims Breath

Elohim’s Breath
David J Walker

He read aloud
in a sonorous voice
the words of choice
 	foreign
musical
imposing
deep and full

its not what he read
from the language dead
nor even what he might
have been saying

He could have been
saying
anything
and my soul would have
believed him

words at a cost
are always lost
in limited
translation

in a sound that was
somehow soothing

Elohim
	breathe again
into the nostrils of
the man Thou hast
created
waiting for his mate
in all of Her
Naked Glory
