Ellen's Raft
Ellen's Raft
We sit above the darkened sea
A bench, my thoughts, and lonely me
Black waves rise igniting fear
And crash against my concrete pier
The mindful storm tears at me
No moon, no stars, just my sea
White caps pushed to meet the sky
Higher and higher the waves try
Rescue her from that storm
Deliver her dry and warm
