Eleven Years

Every time I smile at you
Every time I laugh your joke
I want to scream I’m in love with you
But every time I do I choke
I tell myself it’s only eleven years
That it doesn’t really matter
Every time I do I fear
I’m afraid I’ll hear your laughter
You got a call from her today
You said right to my face
I tried to help and be a friend
Told myself that this would be the end.
