Eleven Thousand Cases

Eleven thousand cases
In the city gives me pause.
We know Omicron’s contagious
But the surge is there because…

People gather close together
After many’ve been exposed
To some others whose vaccines
Did not exist as one supposed.

These statistics make me crazy;
Feels like we are going back
To the way things were a year ago,
Completely out of whack.

At least a year ago we had hope for a vaccine. So how do we now find hope that those who won't get it, get it? :/

Thank you for the alert, Ilene! This morning's newspaper claims Britain's Sotrivimab by Glaxo is the most effective against Omicron, but it will be May 2022 before it is available in a quantity able to do any good, so masks on everyone!

My, my, Ilene, and just when we thought things were turning around. I feel so sorry for the sick, and I had so hoped all would get the vaccine, and this pandemic could be laid to rest. I knew never for good, but I thought it would be different than it appears to be. Blessings on you for this poem!

Blimey, Ilene. Last year I did an ode about Santa giving an ‘up yours’ to 2021… never guessed I’d be looking at updating it for 2022. I think you speak for the rest of us. Terry

Hello Ilene, I got my booster shot on Friday. I am tired of this virus. So are many people feeling the way I do. Merry Christmas. Hugs.

well said Ilene and sadly it will only get worse with the festive activities... and then our governments will take action so as not to appear scrooge like she says cynically! hugs Jan xx

You're right Ilene, a few weeks ago we had a couple of cases, and instead of pulling up the drawbridge we let travel continue and now we have thousands of cases, well done Boris, seems he doesn't listen to the scientists just cherry pics parts of their advice. Tom
