Elated Dove

I’m on my way back to my home, And I have just got to believe, In His Mercy for seeds I’ve sown , Need to give what I receive, In Truth I can’t go back alone. When a wayfaring white dove flutters too far, And knows not where she is bound, The sweet searching call of it’s soul mate, Is a most welcome sound. Working it’s weary wings with feathers soiled, Through tempests over seas tossed and roiled, The little dove joyfully changes direction, Never minding the distance she’ll travel, Simply happy for the correction. Her knotted fears unravel. And with new hope in energy and spirit, Cries out to others with glee.. Come! I’ve found our flock! Come! Quickly! Follow me! Yes, I’m on my way back home, Pray, dare I go there .. alone?

I believe the dove is the symbol for peace and your verse give a hint to how it takes all of us to achieve that lofty goal. Nice message to enjoy my friend.

This is a powerfully poignant piece you have penned here Robert! Beautiful and very uplifting. One day we all shall go "home" and fly with the rest of our flock. Thanks so much for sharing and for always taking the time to read my writes. I have some new ones written and will post one of these days. Have a gloriously blessed day! ~Mary~

If the white dove is guiding you home, you will be welcomed even if you are alone, Rob. The "flock" awaits; don't hesitate. Always follow your heart (and the white dove). A beautifully written poem! Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. Wishing you peace and blessings, Carolyn
